A massive highlight last month was our ongoing collaboration with the Canal & River Trust at Tees Barrage. The day was a brilliant success, bringing together everyone from toddlers in prams and Grandmas—to teens too who, got stuck right into the mud painting!

Session 2: We were joined by Helen one of the Canal River Trust Educators and it was so lovely to have her experience the session.

We met a wonderful mum whose son, usually finds “sitting still” and taking part in organised activities a real struggle. She was amazed to see him completely mesmerised during the storytelling part of the session.

It was a powerful reminder: while tech often makes it a battle to get kids out of the door, nature provides an immediate sense of calm that nothing else can match. Her son didn’t need to “sit still”—he just needed the right environment to be still in.

You too can listen to the Canal or River story that we wrote for the Canal & River Trust and create your own moments of calm.
